WHY ARE WE HERE?

Great question!
We are so glad you asked.
It's 2026, and the Aussie World is quite a confusing place.Between Minis, Standards, Toys, and all the registry organizations, the Australian Shepherd world has become increasingly fragmented. In 2026, we now have:
AKC Australian Shepherds (Standard only)
CKC Australian Shepherds (Standard, Mini, Toy)
ASDR Australian Shepherds (Standard, Mini, Toy)
AKC Mini American Shepherds (Mini only)
UKC Australian Shepherds
UKC Mini American Shepherds
...and on, and on, and on...
It's enough to make your head spin!We created the Monthly Newsletter idea, as a way to connect ALL Aussies, despite their official papers or current names, to the people who love them.We ourselves are Aussie lovers, and recognize them as the fiercely loyal, versatile, ranch & family dogs that all of them are.All colors.
All weights.
All ages.
Tail, or no tail.

RE-HOME AN AUSSIE

If you have an easy(er) Aussie who is needing a new home, here are some great options:1. Send out a note with a photo to your area vets & groomers, and ask if they can share it on their next newsletter.2. Use a service like Home-to-Home to place an ad.3. Print simple flyers with your pet's photograph, and post in grocery stores, cafés, churches, and community centers. Write a short description, no more than a few sentences, and make sure you include :
-age
-behaviors
-needs
-contact info
-small adoption fee
(to prevent pet scammers and "baddies" from contacting you)
Please DO NOT HIDE any health, nipping, or behavioral issues, as the more information you give, the more likely the new adopter will be a great fit for your dog!---Here are some helpful tips on re-homing:https://badrap.org/how-help/rehoming-a-dog/---You may also find direct representatives willing to help you through these organizations:ARPH - Standards onlyMASCUSA - Minis only

FOSTER AN AUSSIE

Thank you for your interest in fostering an Aussie!Fostering is one of the best ways to get to know a breed. As of June 2026, we do not know of any Aussie rescues specifically looking for foster homes. However, here are some ideas you can try, depending on your location:1. Look on our Aussie Map for organizations and rescues near you. Contact them directly and see if there are any Aussie dogs who could use a foster home.2. Contact a reputable local breeder or the national clubs.3. Consider the option of providing a foster home or guardian home to reputable local breeders, who often are seeking great local people who are Aussie enthusiasts, to provide additional housing for their dams and sires.
